This spring has been an incredible experience making Potty Talk.
Potty Talk is a sketch comedy series that addresses social boundaries and stereotypes through humor, and satire. Focusing on the expectations for and social constraints on women, Potty Talk inhabits and explodes some of the biggest, most vicious stereotypes out there.
I am the writer, director, and producer as well as an actor. We've assembled an amazing group of people and have filmed 7 sketches, which will be released on the internet at the end of July. Please follow our progress and learn more at www.PottyTalkPDX.com. It's an amazing project that I'm very proud to be creating!
Other exciting announcements:
This summer I will be performing in Henry IV part 1 at Post 5 Theatre Company as Lady Percy. The show is directed by Don Alder and stars many talented people. I'm very excited to work with this fresh, new company for the first time.
Lastly, but not at all least, I am exctied to announce that I have joined the Northwest Classical Theatre Company as a company member for the 2012-2013 season. I have already been cast in two plays there for the upcoming season, and I look forward to helping our in other ways as well. I am so thrilled to be making more theatre magic with this magnificent, small company in Portland this year! Stay tuned.
I have been performing Love's Labour' Lost at Northwest Classical Theatre Company. It's a delightful show directed by Artists' Repertory Theatre company member Michael Mendelson. We've gotten some great reviews in the Oregonian and the Willamette Week, and almost the entire run has been sold out. I've been learning so much from working on this production. Stay tuned for production photos as we near closing in mid-April.
I have also been taking a movement and voice improvisation workshop at Hand2Mouth theatre. We are learning to create new work based on our physical impulses and a common vocabulary. It is kooky, interesting, silly, and right up my alley.
Back in L.A. and dipping my feet into many ponds. Here's the haps:
-New member of Shine! Children's Theatre in West Hollywood. I'll be performing in their upcoming production of The Bridge to Terabithia. First rehearsal this week!
-Working on a Choreo-Poem in Burbank called "Ordered Chaos." Through poetry and dance we are tracking inside the mind of an artist. Workshop performance will be the the weekend of November 7-8 with a professional production to follow.
-New member of Theatre of Note! in Hollywood. Very excited to join this collective of actors, movers and shakers.
-Nominated for the Luce Scholarship and the Mitchell Scholarship by my alma mater, Occidental. These would both send me abroad next year for more study of theater-- either at graduate school in Ireland or by being placed in a theater company in Asia. Both amazing opportunities I'm keeping my fingers crossed for.
Still looking for the perfect day job... but things are starting to shape up artistically.
